A ring near the Shershnevskaya dam will be unloaded in Chelyabinsk.
In Chelyabinsk, the traffic pattern on the ring near the Shershnevskaya dam will be changed. This will make it possible to relieve heavy traffic and reduce the formation of traffic jams during rush hours, said Dmitry Ageev, deputy head of the city.
"The large—scale project is based on research and mathematical models, it optimizes traffic at the exit from the dam to Khudyakova Street and on the Shershnevsky Ring itself," the official explained, quoted by the news agency " <url>".
Two temporary stops will be installed on the site until November 1, and in December and January, two traffic lights will appear instead of two unregulated pedestrian crossings. The measures are expected to improve throughput by 10-15%.
Next, the authorities will assess how the innovations will affect the dynamics of transportation in the coming winter. A general draft of the changes is planned to be presented later, and it is being prepared to be implemented as early as 2026.
Earlier it was reported that the highway on the Brodokalmaksky tract is being reconstructed in Chelyabinsk. There will be a pedestrian high-speed lane with a length of 150 m.
