The Samsung A50 phone exploded in a 22-year-old resident of Lipetsk. At this moment, the gadget is in the back pocket of his trousers, GOROD48 reported on Tuesday, October 21.

The victim was hospitalized in the burn department of Lipetsk city Hospital No. 3 "Svobodny Sokol". The patient was diagnosed with burns of the buttocks and perineum of III and IV degrees.

According to experts, smartphones explode extremely rarely. This is usually due to damage or defective battery, poor quality components, overheating, deformation as a result of falling of the phone, as well as the use of non-original accessories for charging.

Earlier in October, a similar incident occurred in one of the schools in Vladivostok. A student's mobile phone exploded in his hands during recess. There were no casualties.
