7,8 thousand liters of illegal alcohol were seized in Transbaikalia

More than 7.8 thousand liters of alcoholic beverages have been seized from illicit trafficking in the Trans-Baikal Territory since the beginning of 2025. These figures were announced by Acting Deputy head of the regional government Alexei Goncharov at an operational meeting on Monday, October 20.

Most of all — 3,763 liters — were seized in September during inspections in Chita and municipalities. Of this volume, about 3.5 thousand liters are accounted for by the Courage store chain.

Raids to identify illegal alcohol are carried out on behalf of the governor. As of October 10, more than 200 inspections had been carried out.

According to ChitaMedia news agency, other violations were also recorded during the control measures: the sale of alcoholic beverages in residential buildings, at prohibited times, and without a license and documents.

Earlier in September, it was reported that 12.5 tons of counterfeit vodka of popular brands were found and seized in Transbaikalia. The unmarked products were intercepted in March 2025.
