Prince Andrew will be banned from taking part in any royal events, including coronations and state ceremonies. This decision, as reported by The Times on October 18, was made after consultations between King Charles III of Great Britain and Prince William amid the ongoing scandal involving the late financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Buckingham Palace said Andrew "will no longer use his title of Duke of York and other honors" as the ongoing allegations "detract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal family."

According to a source close to the palace, the decision was an attempt to "draw a clear line" and protect the monarchy from reputational risks.

"A line has been drawn so that the king and the heir can move on and focus on serving the country," the source said.

Prince William reportedly considers his uncle a "threat" to the reputation of the monarchy and intends to completely ban him from participating in public and private events of the royal family. In the future, Andrew will not be able to attend even ceremonial events, including coronations and state receptions.

Earlier, on October 17, the brother of King Charles III announced that he was renouncing the title of Duke of York and all related honors. The decision was made after new reports surfaced about his relationship with Epstein. Andrew stressed that he "puts his duty to his family and country above his personal interests," but will retain the title of prince.
