The Kremlin hosted the last ceremony of the separation of the Presidential Regiment's foot and horse guards this year. This was announced on October 18 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSO).
"On October 18, 2025, the final ceremony of the separation of the Presidential Regiment's foot and horse guards this season took place on the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin," the statement said.
It is specified that the event was attended by units of the Federal Security Service (FSO) of Russia, a company of the special guard of the Presidential Regiment, the cavalry honorary escort of the Presidential Regiment and the Presidential Orchestra.
During the ceremony, the military personnel performed in a ceremonial uniform, which was designed according to historical models. It is noted that changes have occurred in the cavalry honorary escort program. The number of horses participating in the event increased from 12 to 14.
In addition, the updates affected the program of the Presidential Orchestra, in particular, the music screensaver was completely changed before the ceremony. It includes the ancient march "The Triumph of the Victors", the march "Victory" by Albert Arutyunov and the march "To Serve Russia" by Eduard Khank.
The program of musical accompaniment of the event, which included works by Russian and Soviet composers, ancient marches, signals and cantas, was supplemented with a fragment of Nikolai Samokhvalov's ceremonial fanfare "May 9th" and "Cavalry March".
Earlier, on August 7, the oath-taking ceremony of the young recruits of the Presidential Regiment was held on Cathedral Square in the Kremlin. The event ended with a choral oath and a solemn performance of the national anthem. Despite the heavy rain, many spectators gathered.
