US President Donald Trump will not approve the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine until he meets with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the White House. This was reported on October 17 by CNN, citing sources.

"According to American officials, the US president, both publicly and privately, has shown great willingness in recent weeks to allow Ukraine to receive long—range missiles," the article says.

It is noted that Trump is not in a hurry, as he is waiting for Zelensky to answer how he plans to use them. At the same time, according to officials, the US administration has developed a plan to supply weapons to Ukraine in case Trump gives the order.

Earlier in the day, Bloomberg reported that the US president had changed his rhetoric after a conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, moving to a more constructive dialogue, which, according to analysts, could be detrimental to Kiev's interests.

On October 6, Trump announced that he had actually made a decision on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not explain what it was. He clarified that he would like to know the purpose of using missiles and would not like to see an escalation in the Ukrainian conflict.
