The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case into the murder and death of military commander Zuev.

A criminal case on the murder and obstruction of the work of journalists was initiated after the death of RIA Novosti military commander Ivan Zuev and the injury of his colleague Yuri Voitkevich. This was announced on October 17 by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of crimes under Articles 105, 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder and attempted murder, obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists) following the death of journalist Ivan Zuev and the injury of his colleague Yuri Voitkevich," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.
