- The Russian government will extend quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers until May 2026
Quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers will be adjusted and extended in Russia, which will be in effect from December 2025 to May 2026. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was announced on October 17 in the Telegram channel of the government of the country.
"The decision will allow for the smooth operation of agricultural producers, feed producers and other consumers, ensuring a sufficient level of fertilizers on the domestic market," the statement said.
It is noted that quotas will not apply to the supply of fertilizers to Abkhazia, South Ossetia, as well as through humanitarian aid. The total volume of the export quota will be almost 18.7 million tons.
Earlier, on September 21, it became known that in July, India increased imports of Russian fertilizers to the maximum since mid-2023. In the middle of the summer of this year, Russian companies exported fertilizers totaling $280.9 million to the Indian market, which is 2.1 times more than in 2024. This value has been the highest for Russian exports since June 2023. At that time, the cost of supplies amounted to $282 million.
