After a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, there is "definitely no talk of Tomahawk supplies to Ukraine." This opinion was expressed in a comment for Izvestia by political analyst Igor Semenovsky.

"[Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky] was preparing some kind of negotiating position, but it is obvious that now there is no question of delivering Tomahawk after such a conversation [between Putin and Trump] to Ukraine," Semenovsky said.

The political scientist also expressed the opinion that the leaders' talks were meaningful and marked a "new round in communication" and assessment of the situation against the background of the "gradually fading" momentum of the negotiations between the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States in Alaska Anchorage.

Semenovsky added that the conversation between the presidents was constructive and touched upon not only the Ukrainian issue, but also the situation in the Middle East, as well as trade and economic cooperation.

The political scientist also drew attention to the logistical aspects of Putin's visit to Hungary, which will certainly be discussed with NATO.

"Budapest is not an easy place. Hungary is a NATO country and an EU country. It is clear that she stands apart, but nevertheless. The logistics of the visit will require a certain subordination of NATO to Russian criteria and requirements for ensuring the security of the first person," the expert explained.

So, Semenovsky suggested that the flight with the Russian delegation could go to Hungary through Romanian airspace.

The political scientist does not rule out that at the stage of meetings of advisers and heads of foreign ministries, the venue of the summit may be changed. In this case, according to the expert, Belarus may become the venue for negotiations.

"Belarus has actively engaged in cooperation with the United States of America, and it is again trying to mediate between Russia and Ukraine," Semenovsky said.

On October 16, Trump said that the United States itself needs Tomahawk and cannot afford to deplete resources.

On October 6, Trump announced that he had actually made a decision to supply Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, but did not explain what it was. The American leader clarified that he would like to know the purpose of using missiles and that he would not like to see an escalation in the Ukrainian conflict.

Prior to that, on September 26, The Telegraph newspaper, citing sources, reported on the request of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a closed meeting with Trump to supply Kiev with Tomahawk cruise missiles with a range of over 1.6 thousand km.
