Dmitriev spoke about the prospects of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States

Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, said that there is a prospect of building a tunnel between Russia and the United States. He wrote about this on October 16 in the social network X.

"RDIF has already invested and built the first ever Russian-Chinese railway bridge. It's time to do more and connect the continents for the first time in human history. The time has come to connect Russia and the United States," the publication says.

It is noted that such a tunnel can connect the Russian Federation and Alaska through the Bering Strait in eight years. The construction cost will not exceed $8 billion.

Earlier, on October 3, Russian Railways confirmed negotiations with South Africa and three other African countries on the construction of railways.
