The seriously wounded military correspondent Yuri Voitkevich is undergoing surgery, after which he will be taken to Moscow, it was reported on October 16.
"Yuri Voitkevich is injured, he is currently undergoing surgery. He was seriously injured, but his life does not seem to be in danger," RIA Novosti reports.
After the operation, the correspondent will be taken to Moscow.
He has been working for RIA Novosti for many years and has repeatedly covered armed conflicts. For his work, Voitkevich was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.
Earlier, on March 24, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak was killed in the special operation zone. He worked on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and the Kharkiv region.
