Dubai gave: what Russia showed at the world's largest technology exhibition
About 80 companies represented Russia at the world's largest technology exhibition GITEX Global 2025. And they demonstrated not only software in the field of cybersecurity and developments in the field of artificial intelligence (these areas were declared among the main ones at the exhibition). The Izvestia correspondent found communication systems for divers, fuel level sensors for heavy trucks, drones for searching for ships lost at sea, document authentication systems, as well as courses for company employees on cyber threat resilience at Russian booths.
What Russian companies have brought
GITEX Global, the largest technology exhibition, is taking place in Dubai for the 45th time. This year it became a record number of participants — 6.8 thousand companies and delegations from more than 180 countries presented their developments.
There were four combined stands from Russia, so 30 companies gathered under the Made in Russia banner, and the same number gathered at the Made in Moscow stand. In addition, 12 companies from St. Petersburg and five from the Moscow Region came to the exhibition this year.
The All-Russian stand featured many participants providing IT services in the field of cybersecurity, but there was also a wide range of companies providing medical systems and applications. They record and transmit the necessary indicators.
"These are, for example, monitoring systems that constantly monitor respiration, heartbeat, and pupil size changes," said Anastasia Ovtina, project manager at the Russian Export Center (who selected participants for the stand). — We also have companies that train cybersecurity employees. In addition, there are those who work in the field of VR, telecommunications, logistics.
Doctis has introduced its health monitoring programs that can be integrated into any device, so users can monitor their health continuously at home and at work. The doctor will be able to assess a person's condition, having a complete picture of the indicators.
— For example, here is a development on pregnancy monitoring, it helps to monitor the condition of the fetus: usually a doctor does this during an appointment every two weeks, but what happens between appointments? This is often a reason for young mothers to worry. Here, at the first worry, the data can be transferred online — the doctor will see them within 15 minutes and make a decision," says a company representative. — We also have an application that can integrate data from a speedometer, pressure meter and other devices.
This simplifies the work of the doctor: he receives structured, objective data and can always be in contact with the patient. And the app reminds the patient when to give the readings and which ones.
Novosibirsk-based Health Monitor company has shown its device for instant checking of the liver and kidneys, which can be installed in public places, such as fitness centers, pharmacies, hotels and hospitals. In order to get readings, people only need to blow into a tube and wait for the result.
The IT Legion
The global company Kaspersky Lab had its own huge two-story booth next to the main stage and a few minutes from the space where the hours-long cyber threat detection competitions were held.
Sergey Lozhkin, Head of Kaspersky GReAT in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, noted that participation in the global exhibition helps to compare the solutions of a large number of vendors.
— There are many companies here, you present your vision, communicate with colleagues and realize that they see about the same thing, — he said.
At the exhibition, the company presented a full range of products, such as a range of threat awareness services, said Dmitry Lukiyan, Head of Business Development at Kaspersky Lab.
— Every year we talk about new systems and show new developments. This year we are introducing our operating system for thin clients. A thin client is a small mini-computer that can connect to a remote desktop located on a server. The system is significant in that it has expanded the list of peripherals that support working with the OS and are able to transfer these peripherals to the server, which is located remotely on the workstation," he explained.
According to Dmitry Lukiyan, the trend towards such a system actively began to intensify during Covid. It was necessary to quickly and efficiently deploy remote workplaces, which were very cheap, and bring people to remote locations, and most importantly, to do it as safely as possible.
The architect of Solar Group's integrated cybersecurity systems presented four products at the Moscow stand: a service for monitoring external digital threats that allows identifying, analyzing and correcting vulnerabilities in an organization's information assets.
—Russian companies use this service in projects to protect their brand and counter digital threats that can lead to reputational and financial risks," said Artem Padeisky, the company's director of International Sales.
StormWall demonstrated its solutions in the field of protection against DDoS attacks and other modern cyber threats relevant to the countries of the Middle East and the whole world.
"As part of the event, the company's specialists hold meetings with existing foreign partners and customers, as well as negotiate the development of cooperation with other GITEX participants," said Ramil Khantimirov, CEO and co—founder of StormWall.
And the "resident" of the Made in Russia Security Champions booth brought software that simulates targeted attacks in order to train employees of various companies in the basics of cybersecurity.
— Our software helps people understand what can and cannot be done. There is a simulator and interactive courses. But everything starts from scratch, there is a module that allows you to simulate a phishing attack," said Denis Eliseev, a company representative.
Novosibirsk-based Kvchk company spoke about its services for testing business IT resources.
"We can be the first to run to the customer and tell them that while you were fixing the payment page, your download page broke," said Nadezhda Klepam, a company representative.
Transport and navigation systems
The "School of Unmanned Aviation" showed the developments of the technical vision algorithm created on the simulator platform. The virtual drone will teach you how to locate missing people, identify defects on power lines, and track the movement of animals. This software can be used in construction, rescue operations, agriculture, and infrastructure inspection. It analyzes video streams and photographic materials from drones, automatically identifies people and objects, and sends coordinates to the operator in real time.
Tavion presented a range of UAVs at an exhibition in Dubai.
— The multifunctional device is capable of carrying various kinds of cameras, small loads, — said the representative of the company. — Its main advantage is the fast deployment time — no more than 15 minutes. The smallest model in the line: wingspan 4 m, take-off weight 45 kg. The largest is 100 kg, with a wingspan of 6 m.
The main use of such machines is rescue operations, for exploration and marking of the search area. The device resets the beacon that rescuers use to navigate. The second use case is monitoring, target detection and tracking.
Avtotreker company from Stavropol showed its Wiafleet software product, a cloud—based monitoring system that allows transport companies to track the movement of their cars in real time and monitor fuel levels.
"This helps to optimize logistics, reduce costs and increase security,— the company's representatives assured at the stand.
The very same "material" sensors for fuel metering were demonstrated by Italon from Ulyanovsk. And the Perm-based Traffic Data company showed software for intelligent transport systems based on video analytics technologies.
"It is used to analyze traffic flow, monitor traffic, control traffic lights, and monitor accidents," said a company representative. — Our systems are already operating in several Russian cities and may definitely be of interest here.
The Underwater Communications and Navigation Laboratory has brought underwater navigation and communication systems for divers and robots to the Moscow stand.
— Everyone knows about navigation for cars, but we offer the same thing, but underwater, — said the representative of the company. — We also deal with underwater telephony — all the services that we have above the water can be obtained underwater. Representatives of the UAE also came to our stand, the interest is very lively, everyone is glad that we came. Representatives from India, Pakistan, and Mexico also came.
What else did Moscow and St. Petersburg show?
St. Petersburg has brought its companies to GITEX for the first time. Gazinformservice, one of the largest Russian integrators in the field of security and the development of information security tools, demonstrated its package of services, in particular, a threat monitoring center and a system intrusion protection system.
— GSOC is a world—class service, and we are entering the international arena with it. It is a digital resilience management center that allows you to predict and preemptively respond to threats. I am sure that our offer will be a real discovery for many companies in the Middle East," said Alexander Mikhailov, Head of GSOC at Gazinformservice.
Simpl Group (Progressive Information Technologies) has brought to show a system that makes it possible to reduce the cost of electricity production.
— For example, this problem is relevant for data centers and for enterprises, — said the representative of the company.
One of the biggest queues at the Moscow stand was for Smart Engines. Her document authentication application is already working at several Moscow airports and banks.
The Moscow Export Center ensures the participation of the capital's enterprises in the annual GITEX Global for the eighth time since 2018.
"During this period, 160 companies presented their developments, concluding mutually beneficial contracts," the center's press service said.
For example, the capital's IT solutions developer, who participated in GITEX Global last year, exports virtual reality management software to the UAE, an area that is actively developing in the United Arab Emirates today.
