Russians were warned about the dangers of aromatic products in the apartment
Scented products for the home can be harmful to health. This was announced on October 16 by Andrey Dorokhov, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry named after A. N. Reformatsky RTU MIREA.
"Odors in the house are not just discomfort, but chemical signals that can indicate serious health hazards," Dorokhov said in an interview with Lenta.ru .
He added that many popular fragrance products turn the house into a trap of invisible toxins. According to the scientist, deodorants with a "delicate fragrance" are especially dangerous, which often contain synthetic musks that have not been eliminated from the body for years. No less dangerous are other familiar smells, such as tobacco smoke and the aroma of burnt food, the chemist noted.
"Nicotine and tar settle on all surfaces, continuing to release toxic compounds for months. And burnt food forms polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, the very substances that are found in exhaust gases and cigarette smoke," Dorokhov said.
He explained that it was necessary not to hide the odors, but to destroy them. The simplest and most effective solution is regular ventilation and maintaining optimal humidity, the expert concluded.
Earlier, on August 25, psychologist Daria Salnikova told us which fragrance will help you tune in to work and activate your brain. The expert noted that the olfactory system is one of the seven sensory organs that affect the brain and a person's mental state. So, citrus aromas help to cheer up, give confidence and activate work.
