The Ecuadorian authorities called the October 14 car bombing in the city of Guayaquil a terrorist act. This was reported on October 15 by the Prensa Latina (PL) agency, citing statements from local officials.

"The Ecuadorian authorities today called a car explosion in the coastal city of Guayaquil a terrorist act, as a result of which at least one person was killed and two injured," the publication says.

According to Bolivian Interior Minister John Reimberg, there were two cars packed with explosives at the scene, of which only one exploded.

"These are professionally manufactured items by criminal gangs seeking to sow chaos in the country," he said.

Currently, the police and the armed forces are conducting a coordinated investigation to identify the organizers of the terrorist attack and their motives. It is specified that the deceased person was a taxi driver.

A car explosion in Ecuador was reported a day earlier. As a result of the incident, one person was killed and several were injured. According to eyewitnesses, the car caught fire first, followed by an explosion.
