- The head of the KGB of Belarus pointed to the possibility of achieving a breakthrough in relations with the United States
There is every chance of achieving a breakthrough in relations between Belarus and the United States, and the Belarusian side is also open to Western Europe. This was stated on October 14 by the head of the State Security Committee (KGB) of the Republic of Belarus, Ivan Tertel, following a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
"We have every chance of achieving a breakthrough in our relations with the United States as a whole. We are open to this for Western Europe. I think we will hear good news on this track in the near future," the BelTA news agency quoted Tertel as saying.
He stressed that Belarus is committed to dialogue with the United States and the search for mutually acceptable solutions, taking into account national interests. Tertel also noted that the countries have already reached a consensus on a number of issues.
"At the meeting, the position of Belarus was specified both on the negotiating track with the American side, and on relations with our main neighbors and partners, including France and Germany," the head of the KGB added.
Earlier in the day, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the republic was ready to conclude a big deal with the United States if Minsk's interests were taken into account.
