The State Duma proposed to double social pensions
A group of deputies led by Sergei Mironov, chairman of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, intends to submit to the State Duma a bill on doubling social pensions in Russia. This became known on October 14 from the relevant document.
"So, for men aged 70 and women aged 65, disabled people of group II, children who have lost one of their parents, it is proposed to increase the pension from 5,034 rubles to 10,068 rubles, for disabled people from childhood of group I and disabled children - from 12,082 to 24,164 rubles, for disabled people of group I, disabled people since childhood, group II, as well as children who have lost both parents — from 10,068 to 20,137 rubles, for the disabled of group III — from 4,279 to 8,558 rubles," TASS informs with reference to the text of the document.
As Mironov pointed out, this support measure will also cover participants in the special military operation (SVO). According to him, the increase in social pension payments will strengthen the legal and financial basis for further increasing payments to participants and veterans of the special operation.
On October 11, Alexey Govyrin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), said that in November 2025, the Social Fund of Russia will recalculate pensions for citizens over 80, group I disabled people, flight crew members and coal industry workers. Pensioners who turn 80 will receive a double fixed pension payment.
