A criminal case has been opened into a fire in an apartment building in Alchevsk.
Investigators have opened a criminal case into an explosion in a multi-storey building in Alchevsk, Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), which killed two people. This was announced on October 13 by Elena Markovskaya, senior assistant to the head of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the LPR.
"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Performing work and providing services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence)," TASS quoted her as saying.
According to Markovskaya, investigators and criminologists continue to work at the scene. So, they conduct surveys of residents, eyewitnesses and employees of the management company. In addition, the necessary forensic examinations were ordered.
On October 13, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the LPR reported that two people died due to a fire in a nine-story building in Alchevsk. It was clarified that the cause of the incident could be a gas leak.

Special equipment was used to clear the rubble in the house.
