On October 12, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) canceled a vote on choosing an image for a new 500-ruble banknote due to vote fraud.
It is clarified that the cancellation occurred due to numerous attempts to increase the number of votes for some objects, which is why it will not be possible to summarize the objective results of the vote.
"New voting dates will be announced later. The list of symbols for voting will remain," the message on the regulator's website says.
The online voting on the choice of symbols for the 500-ruble bill started on October 1 and was supposed to last until October 14. After that, the Central Bank planned to immediately summarize the results.
