Thousands rally in support of Palestine in Sydney
Thousands of people protested in support of the Gaza Strip in Sydney, Australia. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on October 12.

"Even if the ceasefire is respected, Israel continues its military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank," said rally organizer Amal Nasser.
The protesters marched through the blocked streets of the city, holding Palestinian flags in their hands.
On October 9, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The Times of Israel newspaper reported on October 11 that more than 500,000 people who had previously left Gaza City returned after reaching a cease-fire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas.
