Vucic spoke about Serbia's disappointment with Russia's gas supply proposal
Serbian President Alexander Vucic expressed disappointment over Russia's position on gas supplies. He made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Informer newspaper.
"We have been offered a gas supply contract until the New Year. This news is very disappointing for us," he said.
The Serbian leader noted that the country should have signed a new agreement before May of this year. According to him, agreements were reached with Dusan Bayatovich, director of the Serbiyagaz company, in St. Petersburg.
Earlier, on October 9, Vucic said that Serbia had not yet concluded a new gas agreement with Russia. He stressed that gas supply is critically important for the production of electricity at gas-fired thermal power plants in Novi Sad and Pancevo, especially given the high costs of new technologies.
