The conflict in Ukraine has not at all strengthened, as expected, but weakened the bond between the United States and NATO. This was announced by former assistant to the head of the Pentagon, Chas Freeman.

"The Europeans had hoped that the conflict in Ukraine would unite the EU and the United States again. <...> But instead, everything seems to be heading for a serious weakening, to the extent that [US President Donald Trump. — Ed.] Trump was considering the possibility of simply withdrawing from NATO," he said on the YouTube channel of Norwegian political scientist Glenn Diesen.
