Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins died after being attacked in prison, where he was serving time for sexual crimes against children. This was reported on October 11 by The Guardian newspaper.

It is specified that on Saturday morning, October 11, 48-year-old Watkins was attacked by another prisoner with a knife and stabbed. Prison staff reported the incident to West Yorkshire Police.

Emergency services arrived at the scene, after which the singer was officially declared dead.

Watkins was found guilty in 2013 after admitting to a number of sexual offenses, including the attempted rape of a child. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

The Guardian, citing investigative authorities, reported on April 27 that the body of 58-year-old German writer Alexandra Froelich had been found in Hamburg. The body was found by one of her sons on the morning of April 22. NDR TV company, citing police sources, reported that Froehlich had been shot.
