The Hermitage Theater in St. Petersburg will be restored with the support of Rosneft. This was stated by Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the State Hermitage Museum, in an interview with Vedomosti.

According to Piotrovsky, specialists are currently starting the design stage. In general, during the work it will be necessary to restore the interiors, install the latest machinery and modern equipment, which "in the current realities is not so easy to find," said the director of the Hermitage. "So Rosneft, our partner in this project, has a big and powerful task," Piotrovsky said.

According to him, it is thanks to the support of business that the Hermitage can implement large-scale projects. "Someone wants to participate in the exhibition so that tomorrow there will be a beautiful opening reception. And someone, in particular, Rosneft, is part of the fundamental projects for museum activities — replenishment of funds, reconstruction, restoration, etc.," added the director of the Hermitage.

The Hermitage Theatre is one of the most popular stage venues in St. Petersburg. Scientific conferences, seminars, and symposiums are also held in the building. The theater was built by architect Giacomo Quarenghi by order of Catherine II in 1783-1789 on the site of the former Winter Palace of Peter I. It is one of the oldest theaters in Russia. Plans for the restoration of the theater became known at the end of June.
