The Indonesian government will refuse to issue visas to members of the Israeli national team to participate in the World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta. This was announced on October 9 by the Coordinating Minister for Legislation, Human Rights and Immigration, Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

"The Indonesian government has refused to issue visas to Israeli athletes who were scheduled to participate in the World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta on October 19-25, 2025. This step is being taken in accordance with Indonesia's desire to support the independence of Palestine," he wrote on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a recognized extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).

In July, the Israel Gymnastics Federation said it had received assurances from Indonesian officials about the national team's admission to the competition.

Earlier, on October 1, it was reported that on the fifth day of the World Paralympic Athletics Championships, the Russian national team won five medals. Vladimir Sviridov won the gold medal in the shot put in the F36 class, and Alan Kokoity took the bronze in the same discipline.
