Moscow has more than 70 companies producing machine tools, tools and robotic systems, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. The high-tech industry segment is increasing in volume every year with financial and other support from the city, the mayor noted in his blog.

"Supporting companies that ensure the development of the machine tool industry and robotics is an investment in the future of Moscow. These are new jobs and independence from import solutions," Sobyanin wrote. The capital's enterprises are actively exporting their products, including industrial robots, digital control panels, laser cutting machines and other types of equipment of the latest generations, the mayor noted.

The UAE, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, and China are among the most successful export destinations. In China, according to the mayor of Moscow, the capital's enterprises supply machines for laser cutting of metal and grinding of various products.

In 2024, the revenue of Moscow enterprises engaged in the production of machine tools and robotic equipment exceeded 18 billion rubles. This is 42.6% more than a year earlier, and this high-tech industry segment is increasing in volume every year, Sobyanin stressed.

The mayor noted that with the support of the Moscow government, the companies were able to attract a total of over 500 million rubles of debt financing for the implementation of their projects. Support is also available through the i.moscow platform — manufacturers can receive a grant to purchase equipment and develop their activities, Sobyanin recalled. Since 2022, 11 companies from the machine tool and robotics segments have received grants totaling over 296 million rubles.
