Western technologies can be completely replaced by domestic ones in Sakhalin oil and gas projects. This was announced on October 9 by the head of the Sakhalin Region, Valery Limarenko, who is taking part in the XIV St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, which is being held at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center.

"There are and will be new (technologies. — Ed.) <... Russian enterprises are capable of replacing foreign companies," he told TASS.

Limarenko clarified that currently there are already examples illustrating his words, one of which may be the launch of an Oil and Gas Industrial Park, where 13 residents have registered over the year. According to the governor, one of the residents who passed this process, acting within the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project, has already been able to launch a technologically complex facility — a booster compressor station.

Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, said a day earlier that developers are currently working on the issue of retrofitting Superjet passenger aircraft from Russian-French SaM146 engines to domestic PD-8 engines. According to him, the relevant tests will start in the near future.
