A green meteorite flew over Nottingham in the UK
A green meteorite has passed over Nottingham in the UK. This was reported on October 8 by the Daily Star newspaper, citing eyewitnesses.
"I just saw my first ever sporadic meteorite! At 19:11 (local time, 21:11 Moscow time. Looking to the southeast at the intersection of the bridge on Clifton Boulevard in Nottingham, a bright green streak flashed from about 40 degrees above the horizon down to 20 degrees overhead, lasting about two seconds," the newspaper quoted eyewitness Nicholas Shanks, a software engineer.
It is specified that sporadic meteors randomly appear from all directions, although their frequency may show seasonal fluctuations and, as a rule, reaches a peak in autumn.
The Jakarta Globe newspaper, citing data from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), reported on October 6 that a large meteorite fell in the Java Sea off the coast of Indonesia, resulting in a bright flash and a loud explosion. According to the newspaper, the meteorite flew in the sky over the cities of Kuningan and Cirebon on October 5 from the southwest.
