The Indian Ambassador spoke about the industrial corridors for Russian business
India is interested in Russian products entering its market, for which it is ready to organize special industrial corridors. This was announced on October 8 by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russia Vinay Kumar during the business forum "TIME: Russia — India. Mutual efficiency" in Kazan.
"Everything that is produced in Russia for the domestic market can be produced for the Indian market. <..> We expect that in the coming years the middle class stratum in India will exceed 800 million people," the diplomat noted.
In order to develop and stimulate international trade, the Government of India plans to open international corridors where all decisions will be made within the framework of a "single window".
"We plan to develop these corridors by industry, because someone has an interest in the defense industry, someone in pharmaceuticals, someone in the automotive industry. Thanks to these corridors, it will be possible to apply in the direction you are interested in and get all the permits, help with starting a business or partnership," Kumar said.
The diplomat added that as part of the implementation of the industrial corridors policy, India plans to provide land plots to businessmen, as well as connect them to utility networks and energy resources. For businesses that are actively growing and developing in Russia, Indian representatives are also ready to offer qualified, well-trained workforce.
On September 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin, congratulating Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday, noted the trusting and friendly nature of relations between Russia and India. He stressed that under Modi's leadership, the country pursues an independent and sovereign policy and demonstrates high economic growth rates among the major economies of the world.
