Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed eight drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the skies over three regions of Russia. This was announced on October 8 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"From 14:00 Moscow time to 17:00 Moscow time, eight Ukrainian aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that five drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, two drones were eliminated over the territory of the Belgorod region, and another unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the Kursk region.

Last night, the air defense forces destroyed 53 UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the regions of Russia. It was clarified that 28 drones were eliminated over the territory of the Belgorod region, 11 drones were shot down over the territory of the Voronezh region, six drones over the territory of the Rostov region, two UAVs were destroyed over the territories of the Bryansk and Kursk regions and one more drone over the territories of the Lipetsk, Tambov, Smolensk and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
