Russians rank 23rd in Europe in terms of the length of the working week, behind hardworking residents of Turkey, Montenegro and Serbia, but ahead of the Dutch and the British. This follows from the data on October 7 on the Eurostat website.

Turkish residents worked the most hours per week — 44.1 hours. Montenegrins came in second place with 43.1 hours per week, while Serbs came in third with 41.8 hours. For Bosnians, this figure was 41.3 hours, for Greeks — 41 hours.

The Russians were ranked 23rd in this ranking. On average, they worked 38.2 hours a week in the second quarter. At the same time, men work 39.2 hours, and women — 37.1 hours.

The shortest working week was recorded in the Netherlands (31.5 hours), Great Britain (31.9), Denmark (33.7), Norway (34.6), Germany (34.7), Switzerland, Ireland and Austria (35.8 hours each).

Earlier, on September 16, State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichok proposed increasing paid leave from 28 to 35 days. As the politician pointed out, the bill to increase the vacation to 35 days is necessary due to the fact that the stress intensity of the workflow has radically increased. According to Novichkov, not only Russians of pre-retirement age, but also young workers, as well as middle-aged people, need to increase rest days.
