The new Moskvich M90 may be developed on the basis of the Chinese MG RX9
Certification of the new Moskvich M90 crossover has begun in Russia. It will be produced in cooperation with the Chinese SAIC concern, based on the MG RX9 model, which is focused on export markets. This was reported on October 7 by the Chinese Cars portal.
The MG RX9 is a large seven—seat crossover with a two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 208 hp (350 Nm) and a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission, which can be either front-wheel drive or full-wheel drive. The length of the car is 4983 mm with a wheelbase of 2915 mm.
The interior of the RX9 has a single block of two 12.3-inch screens, the list of equipment includes 12 speakers, a set of active driver assistants, an electric luggage compartment, an all-round viewing system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Previously, the Chinese company JAC was a permanent project of the Moskvich automobile plant, and crossovers with indexes 3 and 8, as well as liftback number 6, were produced on the basis of its cars. The Moskvich M90 became the second well-known model of the Moscow automobile plant and SAIC, the first product of this cooperation was the Moskvich M70 crossover, which previously received the OTS for It is based on the Russian market and is based on MG HS, the newspaper notes.
Last year, Mir-Distributor announced that it had started shipping the MG RX9 model to Russia.
Earlier, on October 3, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant had raised prices for the Moskvich 3 crossover, and the increase in prices affected cars manufactured in 2025.
