To reach the age of 120, early diagnosis and prevention of cardiovascular and oncological diseases are key. This was stated by the rector of the Sechenov Moscow State Medical University, Peter Glybochko, at the Bioprom 2025 forum.

"Longevity does not begin in old age. It is laid in 30, 40, 50 years — through competent prevention, regular monitoring and a personalized approach to lifestyle," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to him, the main challenge for Russia's healthcare system is to reduce deaths from diseases that claim hundreds of thousands of lives annually.

The Rector noted that it is through early diagnosis, prevention and personalized medical care that life expectancy can be increased. He added that Sechenov University contributes to this strategic goal through the development of science, technology and the introduction of a new model of medical education.

Earlier, on October 3, Margarita Belousova, an endocrinologist at the Sberbank Health medical company, spoke about dangerous products for patients with heart diseases. Among them, she named fast food, fatty meats (pork, lamb), margarine, confectionery (cakes, biscuits, pastries).
