In Russia, new car prices have increased by 6% over the past year, and in September 2025, the weighted average price of a new passenger car was 3.34 million rubles. This was announced on October 5 by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency.
"The weighted average price of a new passenger car in September was 3.34 million rubles. Compared to August, it grew by 4%. The change by September 2024 is +6%," the expert said in an interview with the Business Petersburg edition.
It is clarified that the increase in prices for new cars in Russia is associated with the onset of autumn, when manufacturers began to revise their price lists, reducing discounts and "favorable" offers. Also, the share of sales of cars from last year, which are cheaper than cars from 2025, is decreasing every month. The market continues to change its supply structure towards alternative channels.
Tselikov noted that registrations of cars of such brands as Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mazda, Skoda and Volkswagen, whose cars are much more expensive than cars of Russian and Chinese production, have increased significantly. At the same time, prices continue to decline in the used car market. In September, the weighted average price of such cars was 1.14 million rubles, which is 1.5% lower than in August.
On October 2, Avito Auto experts said that the average price for popular used cars in the third quarter of 2025 was 5.1% lower than in the first quarter, and amounted to 750 thousand rubles. It was clarified that the average price of a used car in January-September 2025 was 6.4% lower than in the same period last year. The most significantly cheaper cars were Renault (-15%), Hyundai (-14.7%), Kia (-10.8%), Nissan (-10.6%) and Skoda (-10.4%).
