- Captured soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about the critical situation near Krasnoarmeysk
The captured servicemen of the 425th separate assault regiment "Skala" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) said that the situation near Krasnoarmeysk is critical for them. The relevant footage was published on October 6 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"I surrendered because our command is not helping us in any way, the losses are terrible, they don't send anything from food, they only send them to storm," said captured serviceman Mikhail Chelenko.
He also noted problems with medicines in the Ukrainian army: the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are given one first-aid kit for two people.
If they refused to participate in the attack, they tried to force the servicemen to carry out the order by radio threats. At the same time, another group of militants later came to the positions, which, according to Chelenko, could shoot those who disobeyed or, at best, beat them, after which the victims disappeared as "five hundredths" (deserters and refuseniks).
The prisoner also spoke about the war crimes committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. So, he recalled the attack on civilians in the settlement of Novoretskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) with the use of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) "Grad".
"The bombing started when we were there. <...> The Ukrainian Grads "dismantled" two houses with civilians, peaceful people [there] were," Chelenko said.
He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces wanted to "level the town".
Another prisoner, Yevgeny Virek, said that he was forcibly enlisted in an assault regiment as part of a forced mobilization.
"I got there, I was on my way to work, and they caught me at the military enlistment office. Well, they said we'd go there for a few minutes, sign some documents, and we'd let you go. So they took me to the military enlistment office. <...> So I have asthma. And they took me, that's all, and there are problems with my legs and with my heart. They take just anyone. Even homeless people are taken off the street," he shared.
On October 2, it became known that a group of soldiers from the elite Ukrainian unit Skala had surrendered in the vicinity of Krasnoarmeysk. There were soldiers who were conscripted. They surrendered after their units were destroyed. At the moment, all necessary medical and humanitarian assistance is being provided to the surrendered.
