In India, in the state of Rajasthan, a doctor drank cough syrup that killed two children to prove his safety, as a result of which he ended up in intensive care. This was reported by the NDTV channel.
It is specified that the first victim was two-year-old Samrat, then five-year-old Nitisha. After their death, Tarachand Yogi's doctor, who prescribed the dangerous syrup, decided to prove its safety by drinking the medicine. A few hours later, the doctor was found unconscious, but he was saved.
Later, on October 4, NDTV reported that a total of 12 children died from the drug, nine of whom were in Madhya Pradesh. Almost every child experienced vomiting, diarrhea, and sudden urinary arrest a few days after taking the syrup.
Earlier, on August 27, 17 people were hospitalized with poisoning in the Syunik region of Armenia. It was clarified that people became ill during a feast in an outdoor pavilion. Then the inspectors took samples of products, including meat, sausages, fruits and vegetables, and sent them for examination.
