The UN peacekeepers demanded an end to the IDF attacks on their posts.
The UN Interim Force in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) has demanded an end to attacks by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on peacekeeping posts. This was reported on October 3 in the social network X.
The initial report said that the IDF dropped grenades near peacekeepers working alongside Lebanese soldiers. Together, they ensured the safety of civilian workers in Maroun ar-Ras, who were engaged in dismantling the ruins of destroyed houses.
"We call on the IDF to stop attacks on or near peacekeepers, civilians, and Lebanese soldiers and allow us to carry out our assigned tasks without hindrance," the commentary said.
It is noted that there were no casualties as a result of the Israeli attack.
In the comments to the publication, UNIFIL stressed that such actions by the IDF constitute a serious violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Earlier, on October 1, it was reported that one person was killed and five injured in an Israeli attack in Lebanon. It is noted that in addition, a representative of the Shiite Hezbollah movement was killed due to an Israeli strike. His name is not specified.
