Britain drew attention to Putin's words about Charlie Kirk
The British newspaper Independent drew attention to the statement by Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the murder of American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which he made during the plenary session of the XXII annual meeting of the Valdai International discussion Club.
Three weeks after the murder of Charlie Kirk, Russian leader Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the family of the murdered Conservative activist, saying this "heinous crime" was proof of a "deep split" in American society.
The Russian leader also noted that Russia sympathizes and empathizes with the murder of an American activist. According to Putin, Kirk defended the traditional values of his country.
Kirk died on September 10 after an assassination attempt during a speech at the University of Utah. He played a key role in the victory of US President Donald Trump in the 2024 elections. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, was charged with murder and appeared in court for the first time via video link on September 17. The farewell ceremony for the politician took place on September 21 at the State Farm in Arizona.
