The official account of the White House in the social network X (ex. Twitter) began publishing videos every day with the leader of the Democratic minority of the House of Representatives, Hakim Jeffries, against the background of the suspension of funding for the federal government (shutdown).

In the video, Jeffries stands in front of reporters wearing a photoshopped Mexican sombrero. The press service of the US presidential administration said that with each new day of the shutdown, the size of the headdress will increase.

"We weren't joking," they wrote on the White House's page, attaching a video in which the hat became larger than on the previous day.
