US President Donald Trump and his team are working to attract business support in order to encourage Democratic congressmen to complete the government shutdown. This was reported on October 3 by the Axios portal, citing sources in the White House.

"Trump and his aides are enlisting the support of influential companies and trade unions to push the Democrats in the Senate to complete the government shutdown," the article says.

The White House also clarified that in recent weeks, about 400 negotiations have been held with representatives of various organizations to encourage them to influence the decision on the shutdown.

In the United States, on October 1, the government was suspended. Because of this, non-authorized personnel of federal agencies will be forcibly sent on unpaid leave. At the same time, some will continue to perform their work duties without a salary.

On October 2, Trump announced that during his upcoming meeting with the director of the country's Office of Administration and Budget, Russell Vaught, the possibility of reducing a number of democratic agencies against the background of the shutdown would be discussed.
