The launch of a new testing laboratory of FSUE NAMI for mandatory conformity assessment of cars imported into Russia took place in Vladivostok. It is based on the facilities of the AIT company, part of the Sollers Group, the company said in a statement received by Izvestia on October 2.

The laboratory provides testing services for imported single vehicles. They are a mandatory procedure for obtaining a Vehicle Design Safety Certificate (SBCTS) and further registration of an Electronic Vehicle Passport (EPTS).

The site is located in close proximity to the ports of arrival of imported vehicles, so the delivery of vehicles to the test facilities takes a minimum of time, Sollers noted.

The equipment includes three test lines with diagnostic complexes and environmental parameter verification systems that meet the requirements of the regulatory documentation in force in the Eurasian Economic Union. The design capacity of the facility is up to 130 thousand vehicles per year.

Earlier, on September 22, it was reported that in eight months this year, 70.8 thousand new passenger cars were imported into Russia under alternative import schemes. This is 40% less than in January – August last year.

On September 20, it became known that Russia has again become the main importer of Chinese passenger cars. The import of cars from this country has increased to the maximum since the beginning of the year. At the end of the summer, the volume of supplies increased by a quarter.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
