The film "A Simple Accident" by Iranian director Jafar Panahi, which won the Cannes Film Festival and received the Palme d'Or, was not allowed to be distributed in Russia. This was announced on October 1 by the Russian Reportage film company.

"A simple accident" by Jafar Panahi, the Palme d'Or winner of the Cannes Film Festival and the official Oscar contender from France, was refused a rental certificate," the film company wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the film was supposed to be released in Russia on October 30.
