Students of a school in Yekaterinburg told about the details of the incident with the powder

The powdered energy drink that poisoned the students of Lyceum No. 159 in Yekaterinburg was brought by a schoolboy to show off to his friends. On October 1, students of the lyceum informed Izvestia about this.

According to preliminary information, an eighth grade student found a jar of energy powder on September 30 during a workout at the gym, and the next day he brought it to school to show it to friends, but accidentally spilled it.

"They realized that they had scattered the powder. <...> The smell spread through the school, and not only fifth graders, but also other students began to feel sick," said a student at the lyceum.

According to the students, the alleged culprit of the incident is often disorderly, disrupting lessons and arguing with teachers.

The educational institution is operating normally, despite the fact that some students were taken to the hospital for examination, said Kirill Bazhenov, a correspondent for Izvestia, who visited the school.

Earlier that day, it was reported that 11 fifth-graders were taken from school to a hospital in Yekaterinburg. The students inhaled a lot of the pre-workout complex, which a high school student accidentally scattered in the locker room. The regional Ministry of Health stressed that there are no indications for the hospitalization of schoolchildren.

The press service of the city administration reported that they had sent a powder for examination that caused children to feel unwell in Yekaterinburg. The city administration also noted that five ambulance crews arrived at the scene to provide medical care to the children.
