In Sudanese Darfur, mercenaries from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who fought for the rebels were eliminated. This was announced on October 1 by soldiers of the sixth Infantry Division of the Sudanese Army.

"Our troops in Al-Karama Square in Al-Fasher managed to inflict heavy losses on the enemy by staging a well—planned ambush, which resulted in the death of many foreigners," RIA Novosti news agency quoted the military as saying.
