France did not contact the Russian Embassy because of the incident with the Boracay tanker

The French authorities have not contacted the Russian Embassy in connection with the incident involving the Boracay tanker. This was reported to Izvestia on October 1 at the Russian Embassy in Paris.

"The French authorities have not contacted the Embassy in connection with the situation around the Boracay oil tanker," the ministry said.

On September 30, the French Navy detained the Benin-flagged oil tanker Boracay, which allegedly transported Russian oil in circumvention of sanctions. An investigation was launched into the vessel because the crew allegedly failed to provide evidence of the vessel's nationality and "failed to comply with orders."
