Munich authorities temporarily suspended Oktoberfest due to bomb threat
The Munich authorities temporarily suspended the Oktoberfest after receiving a message about a bomb threat. This was reported on October 1 by The Washington Post (WP).
"The government has stated that the threat may be related to an explosion in a house in the north of Munich on Wednesday, which killed at least one person," the material says.
The local police also announced the start of an investigation "in all directions." It is noted that a special area has been allocated for the festival staff, and protective measures have also been taken.
Earlier in the day, the Bild newspaper reported that explosions had occurred in Munich. At the same time, a man's body was found at the scene. Soon after, it became clear that the explosion was caused by the deceased himself in his parents' house. He then set himself on fire and committed suicide.
