Serial maniac Vitaly Manishin, who is accused of murdering 11 women, was sentenced to 25 years in prison. This was reported on October 1 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in the Altai Territory.
It is noted that during the investigative actions, the involvement of the defendant in 10 murders committed in 1999 and 2000 was established. The murder of a 17-year-old girl in 1989 and the serial rape murders committed by a man in July and August 1999 against girls who were trying to get a job in educational institutions are also susceptible.
As part of the charges, the court sentenced Manishin to 25 years in prison, serving the first seven years in prison, and the remaining term in a high-security penal colony.
On August 12, the court extended Manishin's arrest. The defendant is accused of committing crimes under paragraph "e" of Article 102 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR ("Premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances in order to conceal or facilitate another crime") and paragraphs "a, k" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder of two or more persons in order to conceal or facilitate another crime committing, as well as involving rape or violent acts of a sexual nature").
Then the detainee said that he had visited institutes in the past and got to know each other. According to the maniac, he guaranteed the girls that he would ensure their admission to an educational institution. He lured each of them into his car, after which they drove out of the city, where he raped and killed them.
