The Ministry of Education proposed to create an AI system to help teachers and schoolchildren

A domestic artificial intelligence (AI) system may be created in Russia to help teachers and schoolchildren. This was announced on October 1 by the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergey Kravtsov, on a direct line during the All-Russian Forum of Classroom Teachers at the Rossiya National Center.

"Today we are taking a very careful look in order, among other things, to create a domestic artificial intelligence system that would help both teachers and schoolchildren, but not in order to write off test papers," he said.

According to the head of the Ministry of Education, at the moment information technology acts as an assistant to the traditional education system and will not be able to replace the teacher in the educational process and teaching.

Kravtsov clarified that the measures introduced should be strictly monitored, and also called AI a powerful tool that should be used carefully.

On September 25, Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, said that in Russia there is a need for radical changes in the educational process, taking into account the introduction of artificial intelligence.
