Stoltenberg spoke about his calls for Zelensky to cede territory
Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in his book "Under My Supervision" that he urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to consider ceding territories, similar to how it was done with Finland in the 1940s. This was reported on September 20 by the France Press agency.
"When I first hinted at a "Finnish solution" to the war in Ukraine, Zelensky rejected the idea of ceding any territories," Stoltenberg said.
However, over time, as indicated in the book, the Ukrainian leader and his advisers began to seriously consider this proposal. At the same time, they continued to believe that Ukraine's new territorial realities and security could only be guaranteed through NATO membership.
