Soviet composer Yuri Chernavsky died at the age of 78. This became known on September 29 from the musician's social networks.

"On September 29, 2025, at the age of 78, our dear and beloved husband, father and grandfather Yuri Chernavsky, a wonderful, talented, brilliant composer, whose music is still heard on the Russian stage, passed away," reads a message on Chernavsky's Facebook page (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
