The parliament proposed nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize
Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine have proposed nominating US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. The relevant bill has been registered in Parliament.
The document was signed by five deputies, among whom only one is a member of the ruling Servant of the People party. Ukrainian journalists of the publication "Country.ua" suggests that this initiative was most likely not coordinated with the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
On August 13, the White House announced the nomination of Trump by seven states for the Nobel Peace Prize. Among those who supported this initiative were Prime Ministers of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, Cambodia Hun Manet, Presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Gabon Brice Oligi Nguema, as well as the Government of Pakistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda Olivier Nduhirehe.
On September 2, Trump himself responded negatively to a journalist's question about his desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He added that he wants to be treated fairly for his services as president of the United States.
